Mid-West Tennessee Genealogical Society will meet Tuesday, November 9th

Mid-West Tennessee Genealogical Society will meet Tuesday, November 9, at 5:30 p.m. in the Program Center of the Jackson-Madison County Library at 433 East Lafayette Street in Jackson.

Gwen McReynolds will present the program, “Dowsing for Graves & Compiling Genealogical Narratives.”  Dowsing is an ancient art that uses divining rods in a simple, low-tech way to locate gravesites, ground water, buried metals, and other objects.  Gwen will provide details and demonstrate how to search for unmarked graves.  She will also provide information and show photos on cleaning tombstones.

Anyone interested in genealogy is invited to attend the meeting.  Bring two metal clothes hangers if you want to make dowsing rods.  Annual membership dues are $20 and include quarterly issues of “Family Findings” with West Tennessee genealogical stories and research tips.  Questions should be sent to mwtgs1968@gmail.com.
