Society Meeting – December 10

Mid-West Tennessee Genealogical Society meets the second Tuesday of each month at 6:00 pm in the Program Center of the Jackson-Madison County Library at 433 East Lafayette Street in Jackson.

On December 10, the Society will enjoy their annual holiday party; and Kathy Haney Williams will present a program of tips for genealogy research to find and prove ancestors with special emphasis on American Revolutionary War patriot ancestors.  Documents that are needed to prove lineage will be highlighted, and research sources will be shared.  Anyone interested in joining a lineage society or just interested in their family history should attend the meeting.

Mid-West Tennessee Genealogical Society’s annual membership dues are $20 and include quarterly issues of “Family Findings” published by the Society.  Anyone interested in genealogy is invited to attend the meetings.

Holiday Party

Our holiday party is always a fun way to end the year.  Members are asked to bring finger foods. Please e-mail Lorraine Scarbrough to let her know what you plan to contribute to the party.  lorrisbloomers@gmail.com

Members and guests are also asked to bring a holiday photo of yourself (preferably at a young age, but any age will be fun).  If possible, please arrive early so that we can start our meeting/party at 6:00 p.m.  We have the room reserved beginning at 5:30 p.m.

We will also share memories of Thomas Aud.  Tom served our Society as Editor of “Family Finding” for four years – 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019.  He was working on the January 2020 quarterly.
