DAR Honors Local Veterans at American Legion Post 12

Jackson-Madison Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) honored the service, sacrifice, and achievements of Korean Conflict and Vietnam War veterans during the monthly American Legion Post 12 meeting on Monday, October 14, 2019.  Veterans received a NSDAR Certificate of Honor, and Vietnam War veterans received a Commemoration lapel pin.

Jackson-Madison Chapter NSDAR honors veterans from all wars and active duty service as a Vietnam War 50th Commemoration Partner.  Over 9,000 organizations across the nation participate in honoring Vietnam War veterans for their service and sacrifice during the Vietnam War.  Commemoration Partners express their tremendous gratitude and support to this generation of Americans through ceremonies across the nation.

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution was founded in 1890 to promote patriotism, preserve American history, and support better education for our nation’s children.  Its members are descended from the patriots who won American independence during the Revolutionary War.  With more than 185,000 members in approximately 3,000 chapters worldwide, DAR is one of the world’s largest and most active service organizations.  DAR is non-partisan and non-political, and welcomes any woman, regardless of race, religion or ethnic background, who can prove lineage to a Revolutionary War patriot.

Jackson-Madison Chapter NSDAR was chartered in April 1901, and is one of the oldest and most active chapters in the state of Tennessee.
