BLUFF CITY MAN INDICTED, ARRESTED ON FALSE REPORTING AND THEFT CHARGES

JOHNSON CITY – An investigation by Special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office has led to the indictment of a Bluff City man accused of filing false reports and theft.

In December 2017, at the request of 2nd District Attorney General Barry Staubus, TBI Special Agents began investigating allegations involving Isaac Lowry. During the course of the investigation, Agents learned that Lowry filed a police report with the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office accusing a female acquaintance of stealing his debit card and withdrawing thousands of dollars from his account. Further investigation revealed that Lowry’s debit card had not been stolen and that he had given the woman permission to use it.

Last week, the Sullivan County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Lowry (DOB 10/4/46) with two counts of False Reports and one count of Theft over $10,000. Today, he turned himself in and was booked into the Sullivan County Jail on a $7,500 bond.
