SECOND RIPLEY MAN ARRESTED IN CONNECTION WITH AUGUST 2017 MURDER
MEMPHIS – A joint investigation by Special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the
Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office has resulted in the arrest of Danny DeBerry in connection with the August
2017 murder in Lauderdale County.
On August 5, 2017, at the request of former 25th District Attorney General Mike Dunavant, TBI began a joint
investigation with the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office into the August 5, 2017 homicide that occurred at 929
Barry Marrow Road in Henning, TN.
During the course of the investigation, it was determined that Danny DeBerry, DOB 1/23/1984, of Ripley, TN
was involved in the homicide of Kenneth Jamar Peat, DOB 4/11/1998.
As a result of the investigation, DeBerry was arrested on January 3rd and charged with one count of Criminal
Responsibility for Conduct of Another to wit: First Degree Murder and Felony Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.
DeBerry is currently being held at the Lauderdale County Jail on a $125,000 bond.
This is the second arrest in connection with the murder of Kenneth Jamar Peat. As previously released, Cornelius
Orlando Phillips, DOB 9/11/1984 was arrested on December 22, 2017 and charged with one count of First
Degree Murder and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.
