JACKSON – A joint investigation by Special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the Tennessee Fire Investigation Service, and the Hardin County Sheriff’s Department has resulted in the indictment, arrest of Patty J. Provence Smith on one count of Criminal Responsibility for Facilitation of Arson.

On October 31st, at the request of District Attorney General Matthew Stowe, TBI began a joint investigation with the Tennessee Fire Investigation Service and the Hardin County Sheriff’s Department into the fire occurring on October 31st at 2560 Fox Hollow Loop Savannah, Tennessee in Hardin County.

During the course of the investigation, it was determined that Patty J. Provence Smith, DOB 4/1/1976, of Savannah, Tennessee facilitated the actions of Bradley Dale Balentine who intentionally set fire to a barn containing approximately 175 rolls of hay. As a result of the investigation, Provence Smith was indicted, arrested on one count of Criminal Responsibility for Facilitation of Arson in connection with the fire.

On January 13th, Provence Smith was arrested and booked into the Hardin County Jail.

As previously released, Bradley Dale Balentine, DOB 8/25/1987, of Waterloo Alabama was indicted, arrested for Arson in connection with this fire.
