Follow Me Celebrity Golf Classic: City of Jackson!
The City of Jackson team won the
7th Annual Follow Me Celebrity Golf Classic featuring special guest
Ed "Too Tall" Jones (shown 3rd from left) on September 26th at Bent Tree Golf Course.
In addition to taking photos with each team, the former Merry High-TSU-Dallas Cowboys standout passed out trophies to other winning teams which also included Toyota Bodine team #1 (2nd place), and American Greetings (3rd place) in the First Flight. The Second Flight was won by Toyota Bodine team #2 (1st place), Hardeman County Warriors (2nd place), and Jackson Energy Authority team #2 (3rd place).
Many thanks to tournament co-chairs Ted Austin (on far left) and Charley Deal (on far right) for their wonderful leadership this year and last year. Host with the most, Steve Bowers served as emcee. Mayors Jerry Gist and Jimmy Harris welcomed golfers, and Rev. William Watson of Historical First Baptist performed an invocation while Jeremy Sharp sang the National Anthem. Special thanks to Chick-fil-A Vann Drive for breakfast snacks.
In addition, the tournament honored Celebrities for the Day in Banking and Finance -- Ray Dunn Jr. of Northwestern Mutual, Sherita Greer Graham of BancorpSouth, Monte Jones of Commercial Bank & Trust,
Bill White of First Tennessee and Chad P. Wilson of Foundation Bank. Many thanks to presenters Ed Jones and Swee Har Wilcox, one of five 2016 Celebrity for the Day in Manufacturing honorees. The event also included a silent auction of sports memorabilia from "Too Tall", Eli Manning, the Harlem Globetrotters and other items such as hotel stays from the DoubleTree, Residence Inn, Courtyard and Comfort Suites.
