Representative Jimmy Eldridge Passes Final Bill In House
(NASHVILLE) — State Representative Jimmy Eldridge (R-Jackson) has passed his final bill as a member of the Tennessee General Assembly, ending a remarkable 16 year career in the House chamber.
House Bill 1598 reduces regulations on insurance providers so they can operate more effectively and better serve the citizens of our state.
As Chairman of the House Consumer & Human Resources Committee, Eldridge has fought to safeguard Tennesseans against instances of fraud and waste. He has led Republican efforts to further reduce regulations and slash government red tape, resulting in substantial job creation across all regions of our state. Eldridge has also championed Tennessee’s worker’s compensation reform efforts.
While he leaves behind an incredible legacy in Nashville, Chairman Eldridge looks forward to coming home to Jackson and continuing his service to the residents of his committee.
“These last 16 years in our General Assembly have been a remarkable experience, and I have certainly enjoyed every minute of it,” said Chairman Eldridge. “It has been extremely humbling to work with so many wonderful people and to fight for you in Nashville. I am excited to come home, and I hope to continue serving our citizens as mayor of our wonderful city.”
