Women's Mach 2.0: Power Together Tennessee

Hello Everyone,

We're two weeks away from the statewide Women's Mach 2.0: Power Together Tennessee! I hope you've had a chance to visitwww.tnpowertogether.org that lists the schedule and workshops for the day. It's incredible. We've added a candidate forum. Thanks to all of you who have stepped up to participate and support this event.

We want to be able to clearly state who are sponsors, supporting organizations, and tablers at this event. Please be sure to take 5 minutes to fill out this Partner Form WM2.0 before the end of the day Tuesday, 1/9.

Our greatest needsfinancial support and promotion. Learning from our scrappy but wildly successful event last year, we know we have to have a stronger stage and sound. Also, insurance rates have more than doubled due to raised security concerns at all three locations. Production costs are very high. We are calling on all kinds of favors to bring expenses down, but we could use your help raising funds. The more the event is promoted and individuals register to contribute, that really helps! Here is a media kit your organization can use to help get the word out.

The following are a list of other priorities you'll want to know about:

  • We have flyers and announcement cards ready for distribution. In Nashville, they are ready to be picked up at 50 Vantage Way, suite 255. In Memphis and Knoxville, they will be available for pick up at the Planned Parenthood administrative offices by Wednesday.
  • In Middle Tennessee, there is a volunteer meeting this Tuesday at 6pm at Casa Azafran. Flyers will be available for pick up. We need a lot of support the day of the event and many hands make light work. Please share out this event.
  • Also, here is a volunteer formhttp://bit.ly/volunteerWMNPWR, that can be shared so individuals can sign up for specific tasks.
  • In West Tennessee, there is a volunteer sign-making party. Contactnroyston@ppgmr.org for details.
  • The LAST TWO  meetings are this Thursday 1/11 and the following Tuesday 1/16 at 5pm CT. You should have gotten a calendar invite for that. This is an important time to button everything up before the 20th.
  • We have ASL interpreters, but as of yet no Spanish interpretation or support. If you have any contacts that can help us address that issue, please contact kkalodimos@gmail.com.
  • Side events: There is a Sign-making and welcoming party Friday night 1/19 hosted by Third Man Records. Stay tuned for details; there is a WM2.0 After-Party benefiting Planned Parenthood at Acme Feed and Seed Saturday 1/20 at 6pm. Michelle Branch and other guests will be performing.

I am astounded by the generous amounts of time and dedication so many of you and others are putting into making this event stellar. We're not organizing an event. We're organizing people. I am thrilled to see how powerful together we can be to make progressive change in Tennessee this year.
