Local DAR Membership Coffee Postponed

Due to the treat of unsafe road conditions predicted for Saturday, January 13, Jackson-Madison Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) has postponed their Membership Coffee until Saturday, February 10, at 10:00 a.m. in Memorial Hall of First Presbyterian Church, 1573 N. Highland Ave, Jackson.

This informal coffee will be free and open to anyone interested in membership in DAR. Come to enjoy refreshments, meet local DAR chapter members, and learn more about DAR.

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution was founded in 1890 to promote patriotism, preserve American history, and support better education for our nation’s children.  Its members are descended from the patriots who won American independence during the Revolutionary War.  With more than 185,000 members in approximately 3, 000 chapters worldwide, DAR is one of the world’s largest and most active service organizations.  DAR is non-partisan and non-political, and welcomes any woman, regardless of race, religion or ethnic background, who can prove lineage to a Revolutionary War patriot.

Jackson-Madison Chapter NSDAR was chartered in April 1901, and is one of the oldest and most active chapters in the state of Tennessee.

For more information about membership in the local DAR chapter, or about the Membership Coffee, contact membership chair Jan Bynum at jbynum@eplus.net.
