Hometown News: U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Khanija N. Taylor

U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Khanija N. Taylor graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Taylor is the daughter of Earl D. Taylor of Waldorf, Md., and Yolanda V. Taylor of Memphis, Tenn., and granddaughter of Annie Carter of Edwards, Miss.

She is a 2013 graduate of Cordova High School, Cordova, Tenn.

Harris is the son of Yolanda Smith of Memphis, Tenn., and Alvin Harris of Yorktown, Va.

He is a 2009 graduate of Kadena High School, New York, N.Y.
