The Jackson Chamber mixes music and marketing as nod to city’s heritage

JACKSON, Tenn. – The Jackson Chamber has pooled local talent of songwriter Josh Smith, along with 30

renowned artists and musicians to record and produce a community anthem for the city of Jackson, Tenn.

called “Jackson’s Still My Home.” The partnership highlights Tennessee’s musical roots with the city’s

unique identity.

“From the blues of Beale Street to the bluegrass of the Smoky Mountains, music is celebrated state-wide

in Tennessee,” said Kyle Spurgeon, president and CEO of the Jackson Chamber. “As the chamber, we look

to highlight the best of the best across all industries, and we were honored to work with Josh’s song and

this talented group of musicians to showcase the pride of Jackson and our rich musical heritage.”

“Jackson’s Still My Home” was co-written by Josh Smith and Dave Thomas. The song was recorded at

Jaxon Records and features local and regional musicians who were hand-selected to perform in a music

video, recorded by videographer Jeremy Gleason, that highlights iconic locations in downtown Jackson.

The song was produced by Dr. Jeremy Tubbs, director of music and entertainment at the University of

Memphis, along with Josh Smith. Other musicians include Kimberlie Helton who has opened for country

favorites like The Band Perry and Randy Houser, and Skyelor Anderson, a contestant on the X Factor U.S.

Jackson’s audible marketing and celebration in song will both highlight city pride and encompass the

statewide appreciation of music and local artists. The song and music video will debut at the Jackson

Chamber’s Annual Celebration on Thursday, March 16 from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. The song will also be

featured on local radio stations and be available for download worldwide on the Jackson Chamber’s
