LARGEST COMMITMENT – University of Tennessee
System President Randy Boyd speaks June 24 during the Wildwood Farm commitment
announcement in Germantown, Tennessee, when Melanie Smith Taylor (center) signed the letter
of intent that outlines the agreement by Taylor and her family for transfer of the Germantown
farm to UT Martin upon Taylor’s death. The commitment is the largest in UT System and UT
Martin history and will allow the university to increase educational program offerings in

UTM STUDENTS TO WORK NASCAR RACES – Ashley
Shores, public relations and community engagement coordinator for Nashville Superspeedway,
will welcome UT Martin students for three professional NASCAR racing events during the
weekend of June 18-20. The College of Business and Global Affairs students will be assigned
race-day duties throughout the weekend and learn about the inner workings of hosting
professional racing. Shores, pictured at the track, is a 2018 UT Martin communications graduate.
