Jeff Loyd Named CFO of Freed-Hardeman University

 

Henderson, Tennessee — Dec. 14, 2018 — Freed-Hardeman University President David Shannon has announced the hiring of Jeff Loyd as the university’s chief financial officer. Loyd will begin his new role Jan. 14, 2019.

 

In introducing Loyd, Shannon said, “Jeff brings a wealth of diverse experience and business savvy to our university, having worked with multiple Fortune 500 corporations. His expertise in developing strategies for short- and long-term objectives and proven abilities will make him a valuable part of our cabinet, as he leads our talented financial services team. I am grateful to the search committee and cabinet, who played a major role in helping us identify an extremely strong group of talented candidates.”

 

Loyd commented on his appointment as CFO, saying, “From my days as a student at Harding to adopting Oklahoma Christian students through our church family to being the parent of a current Freed-Hardeman student, I have developed a great appreciation for Christian education. Having desired to be more involved with it for several years, I am excited about this opportunity to use my values, education, experience and skill set to serve FHU and all those who love this school.”

 

With an M.B.A. in finance and a B.B.A. in accounting, Loyd has worked in financial leadership positions with American Axle Manufacturing, Coca-Cola, Hertz Corporation, Alcoa/Kawneer, Inc. and Wal-Mart Stores, Inc.

 

Residents of Arkansas, the Loyd family includes Jeff’s wife, Latonia, daughter, Myca (a sophomore at FHU) and son, Treyton (a senior in high school). They worship with the Cave Springs Church of Christ, where Jeff leads singing and teaches the college/young adult class.
