TWO KNOXVILLE MEN INDICTED, ARRESTED ON THEFT CHARGES
KNOXVILLE – An investigation by Special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has led to the indictment of two Knoxville men on theft charges.
In September 2017, at the request of 6th District Attorney General Charme Allen, TBI Special Agents began investigating an allegation of theft of money from the Beta Sigma Chi Fraternity in Knoxville. During the course of the investigation, Agents determined that Douglas W. Lesher (DOB 9/6/52), who had access to the fraternity’s checking account, was responsible for the theft. Further investigation revealed that Patrick L. Martin (DOB 8/1/52) was also involved in the scheme.
On Wednesday, the Knox County Grand Jury returned indictments charging both Lesher and Martin with one count of Theft over $60,000. Today, they were arrested and booked into the Knox County Jail. Both men are being held on a $100,000 bond.
